He has written 62 books, which have been translated into 37 languages, and has been invited to lecture in 54 countries. He is the originator of concepts such as lateral thinking, lateral thinking, parallel thinking, etc . What is unique about Edward de Bono is that he works with school children, senior executives in major corporations, and government officials. His ideas are based on an understanding of the mind as a self-organizing information system. Dr. de Bono promotes various thinking techniques: ? Lateral Thinking ? PO—The Provocative Operation ? Six Thinking Hats ? Water Logic ? CoRT, for teaching thinking in schools His topics include: ? Motivation and Winning ? Human Behavior ? Breaking Barriers Swiss Scientist—Adventurer Balloonist Bertrand Piccard A fascinating keynote speaker for General Assembly in Barcelona will be Bertrand Piccard. A scientist with a heart, an adventurer with a mission, Piccard will captivate Congress delegates. On March 21, 1999, balloonist Bertrand Piccard and his co-pilot Brian Jones landed the Breitling Orbiter 3 in the Egyptian desert outside the Oasis town of Mut, and completed what had been hailed as the last great feat in aviation: to circumnavigate the globe non-stop in a hot air balloon. The achievement broke three world records: distance, duration and time. Piccard has explored most forms of free flight, from microlight aircraft and aerobatic hang-gliders to parachuting and ballooning. He holds several records, including that of European Champion in aerobatic flight and the world record for altitude. With his British co-pilot, Piccard finally won the record that has eluded so many in recent months and circumnavigated the world non-stop. In a voyage that lasted 19 days, their aircraft traveled further and for a longer time than any other aircraft. It was Piccard’s third attempt at the record and he has now sealed his place in aviation history. Human behavior and the effects of extreme atmospheres on levels of consciousness have long fascinated Bertrand Piccard. To improve his knowledge of the human ‘inner world’ he studied medicine, specializing in psychotherapy. Also qualified in hypnosis, he has opened his own clinic. Bertrand Piccard—the ‘scientist-adventurer’—is an incredibly inspirational and motivational speaker, drawing from his background in medicine, people and personal experiences.
