The aim of this project is to develop innovative and creative ideas about a new mobile phone application in a smart city to promote smart life-styles or smart city to the public. The objectives are to promote the quality and convenience of life in smart city; to trigger our members and youth participants to have interest and startup mindsets.
Project Bullseye 2017 Inter-Secondary School Mobile Phone Application Design Competition was co-organized with Hang Seng Management College. We are glad to have one of the awardees of 2016 JCI Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Young Persons Selection Mr. Wu Siu-hong, MH to be the Event Ambassador for encouraging students to take part in this project.
For the Kick-Off Ceremony, Legislative Council Member Hon Jeffrey Lam Kin-fung, GBS, JP and Chairman of The Outstanding Young Persons’ Association Mr. Sean Lin were the Guest of Honors for sharing their own experience in using mobile phone applications in daily life to those 60 participants. Other than that, the representatives of Hang Seng Management College introduced the details of the competition and illustrated “Mobile App in a Smart City”.
With the purpose of arousing more citizens’ interest and atteention to get to know that we are assisting Hong Kong in creating a modern smart city, we conducted a public voting for the Most Popular Mobile Phone Application Award. The shortlisted 17 teams shared their designs and ideas of this competition on the Facebook Page of JCI Sha Tin.
It is our honor to invite Ex-Secretary for Education Mr. Eddie Ng Hak-kim, SBS, JP to be the Guest of Honor for the Final Presentation and Prize Presentation Ceremony. The students presented their designs to professional judges comprising the members from professional information technology organizations, academic staff and representatives of JCI Hong Kong. Mr. Eddie Ng, SBS, JP appreciated the project that provided a platform to the students to take advantage of their innovation to design various mobile applications, which could have positive impact on the development of the society and benefit to our daily lives.
This project has been promoted to every Secondary School student in order to make Hong Kong becomes a Smart City. A total number of 338152 Secondary School students have been reached and 200 people participated in the project.
While mobile phone application has been wisely utilized in the modern world, we keep on promoting the usage of mobile phone application through different channels such as Facebook, websites, etc.
