Purpose

In the occasion of World Chocolate Day; JCI Damascus organized an event to celebrate the 7th of July in the company of Dar Al-Rahmeh orphanage, linking the value of celebration of International Day of Chocolate with the third objective of sustainable development of the united nations (Good Health)


Overview

In the occasion of World Chocolate Day; JCI Damascus organized an event to celebrate the 7th of July in the company of Dar Al-Rahmeh orphanage, where our target was 250 children. We began the event by introducing JCI and linking the value of celebration of International Day of Chocolate with the third objective of sustainable development of the united nations (Good Health) followed by an interactive presentation session which included a video to explain the producing process of chocolate which made from the cocoa bean in the purpose to talk about the benefits and general guidance on food diversification, moderation to eat and take care of general and teeth health, concluding by suggested healthy habits to follow as daily basics. After the presentation; children were asked to review the information presented and to answer any questions related to chocolate. In conclusion; we thank children for their interaction with the activities. This event was held in conjunction with the media campaign organized by JCI through social media, which included many topics related to chocolate and focused on its importance to physical and mental health!


Results

250 orphan children were targeted by the thirds SD goal (Good Health) followed by an interactive presentation session which included a video to explain the producing process of chocolate which made from the cocoa bean in the purpose to talk about the benefits and general guidance on food diversification, moderation to eat and take care of general and teeth health, concluding by suggested healthy habits to follow as daily basics. After the presentation; children were asked to review the information presented and to answer any questions related to chocolate.
