JCI World Congress Delegates Focus on Creating Impact
On Tuesday, November 6, delegates learn more about the importance of taking collective action to create impact in their communities.
Kicking off the day with the JCI Morning Show, 2013 JCI Vice Presidents Natalie Viselli and François Bégin welcomed Folorunsho Alakija from Rose of Sharon Foundation to share an inspiring story of impact, involved audience members in active games and ended with exclusive raffle prizes. Special Correspondent Matt Chastain debuted the first Rhythm of Rio video segment showcasing the Opening Ceremony and excitement from the day before. After the invigorating Morning Show, the 2014 JCI Vice Presidents Candidates Caucus showcased the 2014 Candidates as they expressed their plans, passion and thoughts for the future if elected.
Following the delicious delegates lunch at the Windsor Barra Hotel, National Presidents and Chief Delegates gathered for the first General Assembly. Important items on the agenda included a special report from Executive Director of the International Chamber of Commerce – World Chambers Federatin (ICC-WCF) Anthony Parkes, 2013 President Chiara’s Milani’s report showcasing a year of JCI members Daring to Act, as well as the presentation and adoption of the 2014-2018 JCI Strategic Plan. Delegates continued to enjoy their time in Rio with an exclusive Rio By Night program of two tours of the city featuring exotic nightlife, a traditional samba show, Brazilian barbeque, dancing and exhilarating Rio entertainment.
