| Lets Provide Better Leaders to Achieve Peace! |
|
|
-- By JCI President Lars Hajslund
Theres never been a more evident need of better leaders than right now. Looking at the horrific and devastating conflicts in India, Israel, Lebanon and several other places around the world, its obvious that we need to step up to the challenge and provide the world with better leaders to achieve peace.
Our vision of peace is rooted on the words of our founder, Henry Giessenbier From within the walls of the soul of this organization, wherein the foundation of character and citizenship are laid, I hope a message will come forth in the sometime of tomorrow that will stir the people toward the establishment of a permanent and everlasting world peace.
The only solution to achieve everlasting world peace is to make sure that we have positive and constructive leaders at all levels of our societies leaders who understand and care for the needs of others, who have real-life experience in leadership, who posses an international understanding of the globalized world in which we are living.
Through a myriad of projects, our members are already contributing to world peace. They are developing themselves and others as professionals, entrepreneurs or trainers; they are solving problems in their communities; they are developing networks of friendship and understanding with people from other nationalities, cultures and creeds. However, we need to step up the pace. We need to increase the number of effective leaders worldwide.
I encourage all members to make sure that we do our best at the local level to provide young people the opportunity to develop themselves as effective and positive leaders. Lets endeavor to provide this opportunity not only to our current members, but to an increasing number of young people. Well thus be providing the better leaders needed to achieve world peace.
