Patrick Knight Emerges from Coma
Member of JCI USA and international trainer is now awake after November shooting.

Patrick Knight is awake and on the way to recovery after being in a coma for four months. However, he is still in intensive care and unable to communicate.

JCI Secretary General Edson A. Kodama expressed his joy at Knight’s progress and extended greetings from fellow JCI Members.

“We are overjoyed to hear this news about Patrick,” Kodama said. “JCI Members in all parts of the world have been praying for the Knight family and waiting for news from Florida. On behalf of the JCI community, please know you are still in our thoughts and our prayers."

Knight, member of JCI USA and 2009 JCI Training Commissioner, was shot Nov. 26, 2009, in Jupiter, Florida, USA. Knight’s wife, Lisa, and three other family members were fatally shot.

While expressions of sympathy and encouragement are appreciated, JCI Members are requested not to send anything – such as flowers, messages, etc. – to Knight at this time.
