Conference of the Americas in Rosario, Argentina, April 21 to 24
The third-largest city in Argentina, Rosario is a bustling riverside metropolis full of modern features and amenities while retaining classical architecture that reflects its founding in the late 1700s. Situated along the Paraná River, Rosario and its numerous historic districts will keep you busy exploring.

The city center features the Monumento a la Bandera, a complex built to commemorate the life of Manuel Belgrano, the creator of the Argentine flag. The National Flag Park in which the monument is located is a great starting point for a walking tour of the city center, including Costa Alta and the Embarcadero Resort. Córdoba Street, which begins at the National Flag Park, offers a mix of shopping, tourism agencies and well-preserved historical buildings.

For time outside, don’t miss Rosario’s beautiful Independence Park and La Florida Beach. The Rosario-Victoria Bridge, a marvel of modern engineering and stunning addition to the skyline, connects Rosario with neighboring Victoris and features a total length of more than 12 kilometers.

Africa and Middle Eastern Conference in Abuja, Nigeria, May 12 to 15
Abuja is the capital city of Nigeria and resides in the center of the nation in what is considered a religiously neutral area, providing access to people of all faiths to its many attractions. Built mainly during the 1980s and designed specifically to be the nation’s capital, Abuja features well-organized districts and a variety of activities for all travelers.

One of the defining features of the city of Abuja is Aso Rock, a 400-meter tall natural monolith, which stands just north of the Nigerian Presidential Complex, National Assembly and Supreme Court. The rock is a popular tourist attraction and creates a stunning backdrop for the city. For an easier stroll, visit Millennium Park, designed by world-renowned architect Manfredi Nicoletti.

In the Central District of Abuja you’ll find the National Mosque and National Church, which face each other and represent impressive architectural showcases of the nation’s religious diversity. At the foot of Aso Rock is the Abuja Plant Nursery, a botanical garden with a varied collection of indigenous plants.

Shopping in Abuja is plentiful. Bring back some souvenirs for your fellow JCI Members from the Wuse and New markets, some of the largest and most popular in the region. Other outlets in or near the Central Business District include Abuja Metro Plaza, Luxury Shopping mall, Silverbird Galleria and Ceddi Plaza.

Asia Pacific Conference in Singapore, Singapore, June 3 to 6
At 710 square kilometers, the island city-state of Singapore is the smallest nation in Southeast Asia but contains some of the most beautiful parks and scenery in the entire region. Singapore is a melting pot of cultures, with native Malay fisherman mingling with the Chinese majority alongside Indian, Arab and European immigrants.

Singapore’s tropical climate means a variety of beautiful outdoor gardens and rows of tall palm trees, especially in Merlion Park near the Central Business District. The park features the icon of Singapore, the Merlion statue, which is synonymous with the beauty of the island. Stop by the Esplande, a waterfront park that contains the Queen Elizabeth Walk and the Theatres on the Bay, two very popular tourist destinations.

For dinner, try one of the restaurants at the Raffles Hotel, a colonial-style hotel named for Singapore’s founder, Sir Stamford Raffles. The hotel also features a tropical garden courtyard, museum and Victorian-style theatre.

Get in some shopping on Orchard Road, Clarke Quay and Riverside shopping districts, but save enough to donate to the Birthday Campaigns of all the new friends you’ve made. Next, find deals in the Chinatown and Marina Bay districts. Don’t forget – bartering is encouraged no matter where you shop.

European Conference in Aarhus, Denmark, June 9 to 12
A city of nearly 1.2 million people, Aarhus has something to offer everyone with a mix of classical European architecture and style, modern commerce and a rich history of art and theatre.

Aarhus provides countless attractions for those interested in European history. Explore the Arhus Domkirke, the tallest and longest cathedral in Denmark and the Moesgard Museum, which features a variety of regional relics. For a taste of Danish history, visit the Viking Museum, located on the site of an archaeological excavation that revealed many Viking Age structures, items and remains.

Art enthusiasts will also be interested in all that Aarhus has to offer, particularly the beautiful Are Nouveau Aarhus Theatre, the Botanisk Have gardens, and the ARoS Arhus Kunstmuseum, the largest art museum in the city. The city also features the Marseliborg Palace, which acts as the summer retreat of the Danish royal family and sits on a 32-acre park that is open to the public when the royal family is not in residence.

For some lighthearted activity, stop by the Latin Quarter for some shopping and a bite to eat at any of the small cafes. Strøget and Frederiksbjerg districts also offer a wide variety of shopping and dining locations with a distinctly local European flavor.
