JCI: “The key to opening my mind and heart”
David Fabricius, a trainer to multi-millionaires, spoke to us about how JCI inspired him and put him on the path to a life full of opportunities.

People join JCI for different reasons. For motivational speaker David Fabricius, it was the JCI Values and Mission.
“After being invited to speak at a JCI South Africa National Conference and hearing the Creed being spoken, I was convinced I had to become a member,” Fabricius said. “And after reading the JCI Mission and meeting the wonderful people involved, I was hooked.“

Fabricius said the JCI Creed, and particularly the principles of faith in God, service to humanity and free enterprise, have influenced him greatly in his work.

“At every exposure, I just loved hearing the Creed and reciting it from my heart,” Fabricius said. “It became a guiding light for my thinking and actions. … The entire Creed has become the foundation of my teachings to elite business audiences across the globe.”

Fabricius, who speaks to company presidents, CEOs and multi-millionaires, treks the globe to train the world’s most influential business and community leaders. He has presented to audiences across 6 continents around the earth and to people from 135 nations internationally during the last 16 years.

His presentations, such as “Heart of a Leader,” and “B3 Breakthrough, Balance and Bliss,” show audiences how to be better leaders, global citizens and how to “plant your flag on higher ground without losing your family, health or soul in process,” Fabricius says.

“The JCI philosophy and the confidence and skills I acquired through my JCI exposure to great trainers and members from a diverse mix of cultures truly strengthened me in experiencing a life wonderfully rich in ideas, travel, friendships and opportunities to serve and earn and to enjoy a deep sense of fulfillment that would have not otherwise been available to me without JCI,” Fabricius said. “Long live JCI for this.”

Finding Opportunity in JCI
Several months after speaking at the National Conference in his native South Africa, Fabricius was invited to speak at the 1997 World Congress in Honolulu, Hawaii to a delegation of 102 countries alongside world-renowned speaker Anthony Robbins. Fabricius said this speech, “Unleashing your Power,” led to new friendships and connections with other JCI Members across the globe and several invitations to speak in the JCI world: the Swedish National Convention, JCI Future Leaders event and JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons Ceremony. Additionally, the largest business school in Sweden published Fabricius’s first book, “Lev Den Vision” (Live Your Vision).

“JCI has been key to opening not only my mind and heart to international fellowship, but also the door to my international speaking career,” Fabricius said.

But it didn’t stop there.

Back in his home country, JCI South Africa awarded Fabricius a JCI Senatorship (62378) and JCI Four Outstanding Young South Africans Award for Leadership and Community Building in 2000, as well as a nomination for JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World (JCI TOYP). That same year he was invited to be a speaker and trainer at the JCI World Congress in Sapporo, Japan, and the office of the Mayor of Miami gave him the Key of Freedom to the City of Miami, Florida, USA.

Fabricius is the recipient of more than a dozen awards, recognitions and accolades for selfless service to humanity and for professional excellence. Although he is a former military Special Forces instructor, police SWAT instructor and team leader, he now chooses to teach how to make love and build peace instead of war. He is the founder of The Better Men for a Better World Project/Foundation to help people be better leaders, spouses, parents, entrepreneurs, friends and global citizens in every important part of business, family and community life.

The JCI Difference
Fabricius says he encourages people to expose themselves to the opportunities available in JCI.

“JCI is the factory that develops future enterprise and community leaders, the type our world so desperately needs, leaders who serve from their heart,” Fabricius said. “With the JCI Creed as our guiding light, we can together make the world a better place for all.”
