CHILDREN'S PERCH DERBY
Kingston and District Rod and Gun Club, the Kingston Police Association and the Junior Chamber of Commerce are holding a Children's Perch Derby on Saturday from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour.
Children 12 and under can participate free of charge and they are encouraged to bring a parent or guardian with them. The day will include gift packages, a prize draw and a visit from professional angler Dave Mercer at noon. Participants must register by noon. Rods and life-jackets will be available for anyone needing to borrow equipment.
SUSTAINABILITY SUMMIT
The city's first Sustainability Summit will be held Thursday and Friday at
the John Deutsch University Centre at Queen's University. Everyone is welcome to
participate in discussions of the city's integrated community sustainability
plan, which are being hosted by Focus Kingston, a citizen-run strategic steering
committee.
Thursday's session will take place from 6 to 9 p. m. in the Robert Sutherland
Room, while the Friday session will be held from 1 to 4 p. m. in Wallace Hall.
