Meet the 2011 Candidates
Candidates for JCI international offices represent the diversity and shared passion for positive change that unites all JCI Members.At the 2010 JCI World Congress in Osaka, Japan, National Presidents and Chief Delegates from JCI member nations across the world will assemble to elect the leaders of the organization for 2011. Your chosen representatives will select from the following list of candidates for the future leaders of the organization, including 2011 JCI Vice Presidents, Executive Vice Presidents, and the World President.
Discuss plans for the future with the candidates in person at the 2011 Candidates Presentation and Public Caucus on Thursday, November 4 in Osaka. The candidates appear in the order in which applications were received at JCI World Headquarters and are sorted by position for which they applied.
For the Office of JCI President
One candidate will be elected as JCI President.
Candidate: Kentaro Harada
National Organization: JCI Japan
Born October 7, 1972 in Kagoshima, Japan, Kentaro Harada holds a bachelor’s degree in law and is the president of a steel processing and transportation company. He resides in Fukuyama City, Japan with his wife Makiko and daughter Sawako. Harada joined JCI Fukuyama in 2001. He served as a 2007 Local President and 2006 JCI Academy Commission Chairperson.
At the international level, Harada is currently serving as JCI Executive Vice President assigned to Asia and the Pacific. In the past, he has served as 2009 JCI Treasurer; 2008 JCI Vice President assigned to Austria, Germany, Hungary, France, Italy, Serbia and Slovenia; and 2007 JCI Asia-Pacific Development Council Officer. He has attended fifteen JCI Area Conferences and seven JCI World Congresses. Harada has been honored as JCI Senator No. 67121. He speaks English and Japanese.
For the Office of JCI Executive Vice President
Four candidates will be elected as 2011 JCI Executive Vice Presidents, one each assigned to Africa and the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific, the Americas and Europe.
Candidate: Eladio Martínez
National Organization: JCI Puerto Rico
Born in 1972 in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, Eladio E. Martínez holds two bachelor’s degrees in industrial engineering and land survey. Martínez is currently earning his doctorate in geographic engineering at Madrid Polytechnic University. Martínez joined JCI Sabana Grande in 1997. He became a JCI Local President in 2001, JCI National President in 2005, and JCI Senators Association of Puerto Rico President in 2008.
At the international level, Martínez served as American Development Council Commissioner in 2006, JCI Vice President in 2007, American Development Council Chairperson in 2008, Executive Assistant to the JCI President for the Americas in 2009, and Special Assistant for Sponsorship for the Americas in 2010. Martínez has attended seven JCI Area Conferences and six JCI World Congresses. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 66219. He speaks English and Spanish.
Candidate: Hans-Henrik Queseth
National Organization: JCI Denmark
Born in 1978 in Aalborg, Denmark, Hans-Henrik Queseth holds two master’s degrees in law. He works as a legal counselor with an international IT services company. Queseth joined JCI Helsinger in 1996. He became a JCI Local President in 1998 and JCI National President in 2006.
At the international level, Queseth has served as JCI Vice President in 2007, European Development Council Chairperson in 2009 and Special Assistant for Sponsorship in 2010. He has attended 17 JCI Area Conferences and 13 JCI World Congresses. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 66000. He speaks English and Danish, as well as some French and German.
Candidate: Victorien Tougouma
National Organization: JCI Burkina Faso
Born in 1973 in Ouagadougou, Kadiogo, Burkina Faso, Victorien Tougouma holds a master’s degree in transportation. He works as a manager of a freight company. Tougouma joined JCI Ouaga Excellence in 2001. He became a JCI Local President in 2003 and JCI National President in 2008.
At the international level, Tougouma has served as JCI Vice President in 2009 and Africa and the Middle East Development Council Chairperson in 2010. He has attended six Africa and the Middle East Development Council meetings, three JCI Leadership Summits at the UN, six JCI Area Conferences and six JCI World Congresses. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 64912. He speaks French and some English.
Candidate: Rami Majzoub
National Organization: JCI Lebanon
Born in 1972 in Beirut, Lebanon, Rami Majzoub holds a master’s degree in management. He works as a senior fundraiser in the field of education. Majzoub joined JCI in 1998 before co-founding JCI Lebanon a few years later. He became a JCI Local President in 2004 and JCI National President in 2006.
At the international level, Majzoub served as JCI Vice President in 2008, Africa and the Middle East Development Council Chairperson in 2009 and UN Affairs Commissioner in 2010. He has attended six JCI Area Conferences and eight JCI World Congresses. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 66234. He speaks English, French, Arabic, Spanish and some Italian.
Candidate: Chiara Milani
National Organization: JCI Italy
Born in 1976 in Castellanza, Italy, Chiara Lucia Milani holds a degree in linguistics. She works as the Vice Director of News for Rete 55 television. Milani joined JCI Varesein in 2000. She became a Local Secretary General in 2004 and JCI National President in 2009.
At the international level, Milani served as JCI Vice President in 2010. She has attended four JCI Area Conferences and five JCI World Congresses. She has been honored as JCI Senator No. 68122. She speaks English, Italian and some Spanish and French.
Candidate: Anis Chehibi National Organization: JCI Tunisia Born in 1978 in Kairouan, Tunisia, Anis Chehibi works as an administrative and financial manager for a group of companies. Chehibi joined JCI El Manar in 2002. He became a JCI Local President in 2005, JCI National Vice President in 2006, Regional President in 2007, General Legal Council in 2008 and JCI National President in 2010.
At the international level, Chehibi served as JCI Vice President in 2009. He has attended five JCI Area Conferences and four JCI World Congresses. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 69300. He speaks Arabic, English and French.
Candidate: Dennis Cunanan National Organization: JCI Philippines
Born in 1971 in Angles City, Pampanga, Philippines, Dennis Cunanan holds a degree in public administration, business administration and law. Cunanan works as the Director General of Technology Resource Center. He served as the Charter President of JCI Magalang Mekeni in 1995 and became JCI Philippines National President in 2005.
At the international level, Dennis served as JCI Vice President in 2008, JCI Chief Executive Assistant to the JCI President in 2009 and JCI General Legal Counsel in 2010. He has attended seven JCI Area Conferences and seven JCI World Congresses. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 63568. He speaks English and Filipino.
For the Office of JCI Vice President
Seventeen 2011 JCI Vice Presidents will be elected, four assigned to Africa and the Middle East, four assigned to Asia and the Pacific, four assigned to the Americas and five assigned to Europe.
Candidate: Donna Francis
National Organization: JCI West Indies
Born in 1971 in St. John’s, Antigua, Donna Francis works as a financial controller for a beverage distribution company. She joined JCI Antigua in 2000. Francis became the State President of JCI Antigua in 2005 and National President of JCI West Indies in 2009.
She has attended four JCI Area Conferences and two JCI World Congresses. Francis has been honored as JCI Senator No. 69692. She speaks English.
Candidate: Esther ter Beek
National Organization: JCI Netherlands
Born in 1975 in Zeist, the Netherlands, Esther ter Beek works as a human resources consultant, trainer and coach. She joined JCI Oostelijk Flevoland in 2003. ter Beek became Local President in 2007 and Executive Vice President of Training in 2008.
She has attended three JCI Area Conferences and one JCI World Congress. She has been honored as JCI Senator No. 69349. She speaks Dutch, English, Spanish, German and French.
Candidate: Guillaume Aubanel
National Organization: JCI France
Born in 1972 in Marseilles, France, Guillaume Aubanel works as Chief Financial Officer for a civil engineering company. He joined JCI Bordeaux in 1999 and JCI Aix-en-Provence in 2000. Aubanel became a JCI Local President in 2003, National Vice President in 2005 and 2006, and JCI National President in 2009.
At the international level, Aubanel served as JCI UN Affairs Commissioner for Europe in 2010. He has attended six JCI Area Conferences and seven JCI World Congresses. Aubanel has been honored as JCI Senator No. 67364. He speaks French, English and Spanish.
Candidate: Lesley Young
National Organization: JCI United Kingdom
Born in 1973 in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, Lesley Young works as the Associate Director of Strategic Planning in the National Health Service in England. She joined JCI Belfast in 2004. Young was Deputy Regional Group Chairperson of JCI Northern Ireland in 2007. She was elected JCI UK National President in 2010.
Young has attended three JCI Area Conferences and two JCI World Congresses. She speaks English.
Candidate: Carlos Parucker
National Organization: JCI Brazil
Born in 1973 in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, Carlos Parucker works as the Chief Executive Officer of KAM Group of Brazil and Chief Executive Officer of Associated Lawyers. Parucker joined JCI Curitiba in 1994. He became a JCI Local President in 1996, Executive Vice President of JCI Paraná (State) in 1998, and JCI National President in 2010.
Parucker has attended six JCI Area Conferences and three JCI World Congresses. He speaks Portuguese, Spanish and English.
Candidate: Rania Haddad
National Organization: JCI Lebanon
Born in 1978 in Beirut, Lebanon, Rania Haddad works in the field of web development. She joined JCI Beirut in 2005. Haddad became JCI National President in 2009.
At the international level, Haddad served as JCI Africa and the Middle East Development Counselor in 2010. She has attended three JCI Area Conferences and six JCI World Congresses. Haddad has been honored as JCI Senator No. 69530. She speaks English and Arabic.
Candidate: Alex Mok
National Organization: JCI Macao
Born in 1972 in Hong Kong, Alex Mok works as the deputy general manager of a construction company. He joined JCI Hong Kong in 2001. Mok became a JCI Local President in 2006 and JCI National President in 2009.
At the international level, Mok served as 2005 JCI ASPAC Macao Conference Director. He has attended nine JCI Area Conferences and five JCI World Congresses. Mok has been honored as JCI Senator No. 66066. He speaks Chinese and English.
Candidate: Shine Bhaskaran
National Organization: JCI India
Born in 1976 in Nattika, Kerala, India, Shine Bhaskaran works in the hotel management industry. He joined JCI Triprayar in 1999. Bhaskaran became a JCI Local President in 2001, Zone President in 2005, and National Vice President in 2009.
At the international level, Bhaskaran served as JCI UN Affairs Commissioner for Asia & Pacific in 2010. He has attended two JCI UN Leadership Summits, three JCI Area Conferences and five JCI World Congresses. Bhaskaran has been honored as JCI Senator No. 68189. He speaks English.
Candidate: Ismail Haznedar
National Organization: JCI Turkey
Born in 1976 in Tetovo, Macedonia, Ismail Haznedar works as a partner in an investment and business development company. He joined JCI Avrasya in 2005. Haznedar became a JCI Local President in 2008 and JCI National President in 2010.
He has attended four JCI Area Conferences and three JCI World Congresses. Haznedar has been honored as JCI Senator No. 69159. He speaks English, Turkish, Macedonian, Albanian and is familiar with East European Languages.
Candidate: An Deventer National Organization: JCI Belgium Born in 1971 in Ronse, Belgium, An Deventer works as an internal auditor in a bank. She joined JCI Ronse in 1999. Deventer became a JCI Local President in 2001 and in 2009 and JCI National President in 2008.
At the international level, Deventer served as JCI European Development Councilor in 2010. She has attended ten JCI Area Conferences and seven JCI World Congresses. Deventer has been honored as JCI Senator No. 65517. She speaks Dutch, French, English and German.
Candidate: Toshiharu Shimizu
National Organization: JCI Japan
Born in 1972 in Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, Toshiharu Shimizu serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Seishin Preschool. He joined JCI Hitachinaka in 2001. Shimizu became 2006 Vice Chairperson of the JCI Affairs Commission of JCI Japan and a JCI Local President in 2008. At the international level, Shimizu served as 2009 and 2010 JCI Asia-Pacific Development Council Chairperson, 2007 Asia-Pacific Development Council Secretary General and 2005 JCI Asia-Pacific Development Council Development Officer. He has attended seven JCI Area Conferences and seven JCI World Congresses. Shimizu has been honored as JCI Senator No. 68227. He speaks English and Japanese.
Candidate: Raju Khatri
National Organization: JCI Nepal
Born in 1974 in Pokhara, Nepal, Raju Khatri works as the director of Stay Well Housing Pvt., Ltd. Khatri joined JCI Pokhara in 1997. He became a JCI Local President in 2004, National Executive Vice President in 2006, National Secretary General in 2008 and JCI National President in 2010.
He has attended four JCI Area Conferences. Khatri has been honored as JCI Senator No. 69535. He speaks English and Nepali.
Candidate: Jonathan Miranda
National Organization: JCI Honduras
Born in 1980 in Villanueva, Honduras, Jonathan Miranda works as the Internal Auditor for the city government and teaches at the Central America Technology University in San Pedru Sula. Miranda joined JCI Villanueva in 2003. He became JCI Local President in 2005 and JCI National President in 2008.
Miranda has attended four JCI Area Conferences and two JCI Leadership Summits. He speaks Spanish and English.
Candidate: Mohamed Makkaoui
National Organization: JCI Morocco
Born in 1975 in Marrakech, Morocco, Mohamed Makkaoui works as a teacher, researcher and training consultant for several firms and training institutions. Makkaoui joined JCI Marrakech in 2006. He became JCI Casablanca Local President in 2008 and JCI National President in 2010. At the international level, Makkaoui is an ITF JCI Trainer. He has attended two JCI Area Conferences and two JCI World Congresses. Makkaoui has been honored as JCI Senator No. 69718. He speaks French and English.
Candidate: Victor Marawu
National Organization: JCI Zimbabwe
Born in 1974 in Marondera, Zimbabwe, Victor Marawu works as a Group Managing Director of a brand development group. Marawu joined JCI Khumalo in 2002. He became Local President in 2004 and State President in 2008.
At the international level, Marawu served as JCI Africa and the Middle East Development Council Officer in 2010. He has attended two JCI Area Conferences and one JCI World Congress. He speaks English and French.
Candidate: Katherine Cheng-Arif
National Organization: JCI USA
Born in 1977 in Taipei, Taiwan, Katherine Cheng-Arif works as a Managing Executive Vice President of an event planning company. She joined JCI Houston Asian in 2001. She became Local President in 2001, District Director in 2002, State Vice President in 2004 and JCI Texas State President in 2009.
At the international level, Cheng-Arif served as JCI UN Commissioner in 2010. She has attended one JCI Area Conference and one JCI World Congress. Cheng-Arif has been honored as JCI Senator No. 65398. She speaks English and Chinese.
Candidate: Fabrice Shema Ngoga
National Organization: JCI Rwanda
Born in 1978 in Katana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Fabrice Shema Ngoga works as the Chief Executive Officer of two pharmaceutical companies importing, storing and distributing medical products. Ngoga joined JCI Mille Collines in 2007. He became the mobilization officer for JCI Rwanda in 2008 and JCI National President in 2010.
Ngoga has attended three JCI Africa and the Middle East Development Council meetings, one JCI Area Conference and one JCI World Congress. He speaks English and French.
Candidate: Dave Martinus
National Organization: JCI Dutch Caribbean
Born in 1972 in Willemstad, Curacao, Netherland Antilles, Dave Martinus works as the Business Development Coordinator of a manufacturing company. Martinus joined JCI Dutch Caribbean in 2002. He became JCI Curacao Local President in 2005, JCI Aruba Local President in 2007 and JCI National President in 2010.
Martinus has attended five JCI Area Conferences and will attend the 2010 JCI World Congress in Osaka. He speaks English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamento.
Candidate: Carlos Miranda
National Organization: JCI Ecuador
Born in 1974 in Portoviejo, Ecuador, Carlos Miranda works as a civil engineer and as the president of a construction company. Miranda joined JCI Portoviejo in 2000. He became a JCI Local President in 2004, Regional Vice President in 2006 and JCI National President in 2007.
Miranda has attended five JCI Area Conferences, two JCI World Congresses and the 2007 JCI-UN Leadership Summit in New York.
Candidate: Paa Kwesi Inkumsah
National Organization: JCI Ghana
Born in 1978 in Accra, Ghana, Paa Kwesi Inkumsah works as group leader for Bray & Bikins and serves as a board member for the International Institute for Global Leadership. He joined JCI Ghana in 2006 and founded the JCI Accra Royale Local Organization in September 2007. He served as National Vice President in 2007, Deputy National President in 2008 and JCI National President in 2009.
Paa Kwesi has attended two JCI Area Conferences and three JCI World Congresses. He speaks English.
Candidate: Daniel Wong
National Organization: JCI Malaysia
Born in 1977 in Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia, Daniel Wong works as the General Manager of an engineering company. Wong joined JCI Tawau in 2000. He became a JCI Local President in 2002, Area Sabah Chairperson in 2005 and National Executive Vice President in 2005.
At the international level, Wong served as JCI Asia-Pacific Development Council Development Officer in 2009 and 2010. He has attended seven JCI Area Conferences and one JCI World Congress. Wong has been honored as JCI Senator No. 68570. He speaks English, Mandarin and Malay.
Candidate: Kouakou Alexis Kouassi National Organization: JCI Cote d'Ivoire Born in 1975 in Hire, Cote D'Ivoire, Kouakou Alexis Kouassi works as a managing director for the Cote d'Ivoire national electricity company. He joined JCI Gagnoa in 2001. Kouassi became JCI Local President in 2003 and JCI National President in 2007.
At the international level, Kouassi served JCI as Special Assistant for Sponsorship in 2008, and as Executive Assistant to the JCI President for Africa and the Middle East in 2010. He has attended four JCI Area Conferences and five JCI World Congresses. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 66942. He speaks French and English.
